Monsters HD Unwraps Eight Mummy Movies in High Definition - Including Universal’s Classic Mummy Series and Don Coscarelli’s Contemporary Cult Comedy Bubba Ho-Tep

Mothers. We all have them. They give us life, they raise us, feed us, nurture us, and, well, mother us, and then send us off into the big, bad world. So it should come as no surprise that we have a holiday every year to honor our mothers, since they truly do deserve it. But what about mummies? After all, many of these people were living gods, people of great power and influence, which is why their remains have been entombed as such. People are still fascinated with them, as evidenced by the recent King Tut exhibit in Los Angeles in 2005. Stephen Sommer’s 1999 MUMMY remake and its sequel, THE MUMMY RETURNS (a third film is in the works), along with Universal’s popular theme park attraction in Hollywood and Anne Rice’s bestselling MUMMY novel have revitalized the public’s interest in mummies. So don’t the great gods of ancient Egypt deserve their own holiday? This year, Monsters HD is doing something about it with their “Mummy’s Day Marathon” of classic mummy movies, featuring horror icons like Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, Jr., and Bruce Campbell!

So when you’re finished showering your mom with flowers, cards, and chocolate, take a couple of hours out to remember your favorite mummy with the Monsters HD “Mummy’s Day Marathon” on May 14. It’s the movie marathon that only a mummy could love!
