The Bates Motel Television Series In The Works
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vertigo Entertainment has signed a deal with Lionsgate to create The Bates Motel television series for broadcast and cable airings. A re-imagining of "Psycho" that's being developed with Universal Media Studios. No talent has been announced yet for the show.- The Monster

Although the TV Movie BATES MOTEL was not actually a pilot it did spawn the idea of a PSYCHO tv series.
This idea has popped up at universal from time to time for over 20 years.
After the BATES MOTEL aired it was obvious there was no way to do a series. It would be just like the love boat with f list stars popping in and out. Saving a Jamie lee Curtis apperance for the big season finale.
No one since has found a good working formula. I'd be interested to find out the genius who pitched this idea.
I'll never happen. If i'm wrong and it does... It'll never work.
