New Year's Evil Trailer

Happy New Year from Monsters A Go-Go. Today I would like to bring you the trailer for the 1980 slasher New Year's Evil.

New Year's Eve is on it's way and TV's most famous punk-rock lady icon Diane Sullivan is holding a late hour countdown celebration of music and partying. All is going well until Diane recieves a phone call from a odd sounding stranger announcing on live Television that when New Year's strikes in each time zone, a 'Naughty Girl' will be murdered (punished), and the killer leaves a threat saying she will be the one to die last.

Don't dare make New Year's resolutions... Unless you plan to live!

Happy New Year's Evil!

Zombie Panic: Source

What would you do with zombies coming after you? Zombies are coming after any remaining humans, and the humans must fight them off as best they can. With little resources readily available, survivors are forced to work together in an attempt to survive.

For those horror fans who are gamers like me. I want to direct you over to Zombie Panic: Source. A new free Half-Live 2 Mod. You will need at least one "Source" game (Half-Life 2, Day of Defeat, etc.) to play this Zombie mod.

We want the mod to feel creepy and give you a sense of desperation, and yet not take itself so seriously that you can't laugh at the way you got slayed. Overall fun and playability is the priority, where is realism and horror while important are just a bonus when possible. We want a mod that you can easily play with any number of people, even with small numbers or uneven numbers. Plus, there's a certain sense of satisfaction in tearing apart the heartless survivors who failed to protect you while you were alive, limb from limb.

Head on over to the Zombie Panic: Source website for more information and download links now! And I'll see you in the game!

Hammer Films: 'Beyond the Rave' Comes to MySpace TV

LONDON -- The recently revived Hammer Films will produce its first feature in three decades and distribute it via social networking site MySpace's Web TV arm, according to Variety.

Legendary Brit production company Hammer built its name on a string of genre pics released in the 1950s and '60s under the Hammer House of Horror label. New pic "Beyond the Rave" will be released in 20-minute webisodes on MySpace TV and then be made available in its entirety on DVD to buy or as a download. The youth-skewed vampire story set in England's underground rave party scene follows a hedonistic soldier in his quest to track down his missing girlfriend in the last 24 hours before he flies to Iraq.

Cast includes Sadie Frost, Jamie Dornan, Nora-Jane Noone and Tamer Hassan. Matthias Hoene directs. Ben Grass and Tom Grass of Pure Grass Films produce for Hammer.

"Beyond the Rave" was "inspired by Tom's and my own experiences of raves: the great highs, and the demons that can lurk in the dark before dawn," said Ben Grass. Hammer's latest resurrection came in May, when it was purchased a consortium led by Dutch producer John de Mol.

You can view the first trailer for "Beyond the Rave" right here.

Castlevania Movie On Hold

From Variety:
Rogue Pictures has halted "Castlevania," the live-action adaptation of the Konami vampire videogame that it is co-producing with Crystal Sky Entertainment. Sylvain White ("Stomp the Yard") was set to direct, and production was slated to begin in April in South Africa, according to Variety.
The film was unplugged because it needed additional script work that wasn't possible because of the writers strike.

Script sets up a generational battle between Vlad the Impaler and members of the family that inadvertently unleashed the first vampire.

With a budget around $40 million and franchise aspirations, Rogue reluctantly shelved the picture, preferring to wait for a strike resolution and get it right. White is still committed, and the genre producer has at least four other production starts for 2008, including remakes of "Last House on the Left" and "Near Dark."
