Witchblade Teaser Poster and Website
Platinum Studios revealed an official teaser poster for its forthcoming big screen adaptation of Witchblade which is cut from the Top Cow comic book. The official site has also gone live. Witchblade 2009
Platinum Studios and its partners Darklight and Top Cow - are looking at a 2009 release. The comic book introduced the "Witchblade" mythology, which centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation.
Chemical Wedding is a feature film written by Iron Maiden front-man, Bruce Dickinson and long term Monty Python editor, Julian Doyle, who also directed the film. The film is a gothic sci-fi extravaganza set in Trinity College Cambridge, where a scientific experiment goes awry resulting in the resurrection of the infamous Edwardian Occultist Aleister Crowley, who was immortalised into pop culture by the likes of The Beatles, Jimmy Page and Ozzy Osborne.
From Hollywood Reporter: George A. Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" will be "dimensionalized" to stereoscopic 3-D for a planned theatrical release.
New Amsterdam Entertainment has tapped 3-D company In-Three, which will use its proprietary "dimensionalization" process to turn the 1978 indie horror flick movie into 3-D. The project is expected to be completed within the year.
So far the only legacy 2-D film that has been converted and re-released in digital 3-D is "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas," which Disney released in October 2006 in 168 theaters, grossing $8.7 million. Disney reissued the film in October and plans to repeat this year and in 2009.
In-Three uses patented software tools and techniques to create a second camera image from a 2-D image. Each frame is "dimensionalized," meaning that all objects are moved forward or backward from the screen or in relation to one another so as to achieve the desired dramatic effect.

Fango caught up with filmmaker Kim Henkel. He’s best-known as the co-scripter of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and gave them the scoop that he has a new Leatherface offering in the planning stages. “I have just completed a script for a new one, and it will not be made by Platinum Dunes,” Henkel tells Fango. “I’ve just done the first draft, and I’m still unsure of which way I’m going to go with it. However, it’s the first time since the original that I’ve done something that I wanted to do with it. I’m excited about being able to truly realize what I’ve put down on paper.”
While Henkel, who also wrote and directed 1997’s TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION, is tight-lipped about plot details, he does offer, “Let me say that it moves the whole situation forward. It places everything in the present, and is very much a product of these times. It leaves behind the setting of ‘30 years ago.’ ”

Sarah Mandy (Asia Argento), an American studying art restoration at the Museum of Ancient Art in Rome, examines an urn found at an ancient, decrepit grave near Viterbo. Bound within are the relics of a witch known as the Mother of Tears, Mater Lachrimarum (Moran Atias). Breaking the seal heralds the return of the beautiful yet malefic sorceress' powers, and the world is plunged into chaos. A wave of suicides and crime sweeps over Italy's capital as witches congregate to pay homage to their reborn queen. Sarah must eventually discover her latent supernatural powers with the help of her deceased mother (Daria Nicolodi) and confront Lachrimarum at the opulent Palazzo Varelli.

"Eater," is directed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator) and written by Cemetery Dance Magazine publisher and editor Richard Chizmar (From a Buick 8) & actor Johnathon Schaech (Masters of Horror). A rookie cop (Moss) must spend her first night in the precinct watching over a serial killer, coined "The Eater" (Stephen R. Hart, Shoot 'Em Up). When her fellow cops start acting bizarre, she quickly learns that no one is who they seem. Russell Hornsby (Lincoln Heights), Pablo Schreiber ("The Wire") and Stephen Lee ("Boston Legal") also star.
"Spooked," is directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist) and written by Matt Venne (White Noise 2: The Light). While on a stake out in a haunted house, a private eye (Roberts) is made to confront the demons of his past. Jack Noseworthy ("Judging Amy"), Cynthia Watros ("Lost") and Larry Gilliard Jr. ("The Wire") also star.
"Community" is directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho) and written by Kelly Kennemer (The Music Within). When a young married couple, played by Routh and Appleby, find the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, their lives seem...well...perfect. But as the dark underbelly of their neighborhood creeps to the surface, they soon realize that their neighbors will go to any extreme -- even murder -- to make sure that they comply with their twisted sense of conformity. John Billingsley (“Star Trek: Enterprise") also stars.
"Red Snow" has a screenplay written by Mick Garris (Riding the Bullet), from a story by Del Howison ("Dark Delicacies"). Breck Eisner (Creature from the Black Lagoon) will direct. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly secrets.
"Chance" is written by Lem Dobbs (The Score), with a director to be announced later. In the vein of such classic doppelganger stories as Jekyll & Hyde and Poe's "William Wilson," the episode explores a dreadful, classic battle that ensues when a man is confronted by his evil self.
"New Year's Day" will be directed by Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV), and is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) from a story by Paul Kane. A young woman wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies.
"Family Man" will be directed by Ronny Yu (Freddy vs. Jason, Bride of Chucky) and is written by Dan Knauf ("Carnivale," "Supernatural"). This action-charged, psychological thriller focuses on a likeable family man who switches bodies with a serial killer after a near-death experience. Now, he must fight from behind bars to keep the murderer from adding his family to the long list of victims.
"Skin & Bones" is written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan (Masters of Horror) with a director to be announced later. When a cattle herder returns home to his family after being lost in the woods for days, he just doesn't seem the same. Soon, a terrible mortal struggle ensues against the terrifying monster possessing him.
"Something With Bite" is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis (Masters of Horror), the son of John Landis. Ernest Dickerson (NBC's "Heroes") will direct.
"Nightmare in Lace," John Landis (An American Werewolf in London) will direct an episode written by Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers). On her wedding day, a beautiful bride receives a mysterious note that reads: "The person you are marrying is a serial killer."
