Tomorrow is Halloween - Are you looking for some movies to watch? Here is a list of 5 movies I would like to recommend you watch this Halloween.

5 - Suspiria (1977) - The Dario Argento classic. Jessica Harper stars as Suzy Banyon, a young American ballet dancer who arrives at a prestigious European dance academy run by the mysterious Madame Blanc and Miss Tanner. But when a series of bizarre incidents and horrific crimes (including what Entertainment Weekly calls "the most vicious murder scene ever filmed") turn the school into a waking nightmare of the damned, Suzy must escape the academy's unspeakable secret of supernatural evil.


4 - The Return of the Living Dead (1985) - The 80s great. On his first day on the job at an army surplus store, poor Freddy unwittingly releases nerve gas from a secret U.S. military canister, unleashing an unbelievable terror. The gas re-animates a corps of corpses, who arise from their graves with a ravenous hunger for human brains! And luckily for those carnivorous cadavers, there is a group of partying teens nearby, just waiting to be eaten!


3 - Behind the Mask - The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) - You know legendary maniacs Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger. Now meet Leslie Vernon, the next great psycho-slasher.


2 - Halloween : Extended Edition (1978) - With 12 minutes of additional footage put back into the original version this is the Halloween movie to watch. The only place to get it now is in the new Halloween: 30th Anniversary Box Set.


1 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) - The Midnight Movie Clut Classic. Fasten your garter belt and come up to the lab and see what's on the slab! The madcap, musical mayhem begins when rain-soaked Brad and Janet take refuge in the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite mad scientist from outer space who is about to unveil his greatest creation - and have a bit of fun with his reluctant guests!

Four RKO Horror Classics Up For Remakes

From Variety:
Andy Fickman has made a deal with Roseblood Movie Company and Twisted Pictures to godfather four remakes from RKO’s horror heyday, including three that were produced by horrormeister Val Lewton. Fickman will direct at least one of the films.

Roseblood is the horror/thriller division of RKO Pictures, and Twisted is the horror division of Evolution Entertainment, financiers and producers of the “Saw” series. The companies will co-finance the films.

The remake properties are the Jacques Tourneur-directed “I Walked With a Zombie” (1943); the Robert Wise-directed Bela Lugosi-Boris Karloff starrer “The Body Snatcher” (1945); the Mark Robson-directed Karloff starrer “Bedlam” (1946); and the John Farrow-directed Lucille Ball-John Carradine starrer “Five Came Back” (1939).

Ghost Hunters: College Edition

Sci Fi Channel's "Ghost Hunters" is about to get a higher education.

The network has ordered a pilot for another spinoff of the popular reality franchise from exec producer Craig Piligian.

Tentatively titled "Ghost Hunters: College Edition," the show features a group of students going around the country to seek out paranormal activity.

The students will be guided by an experienced ghost investigator. Producers have not determined if any cast members from the other shows will be involved in the new project.

"Hunters" launched in 2004 starring two Rhode Island plumbers who investigate purportedly haunted houses in their spare time. The show has since grown every season and is now Sci Fi's second highest-rated series. The Oct. 8 "Hunters" episode scored an all-time high of 2.7 million total viewers.

'Ghost Hunters' appeals to a wide demographic, and we felt the college edition would be a great asset to the franchise," Piligian said.

The first spinoff, "Ghost Hunters International," took the format around the world. The show debuted in January to record ratings and enjoyed a successful seven-episode run, averaging 2.4 million viewers. "International" has been renewed for a second season.

Sci Fi's "Ghost Hunters" franchise has been an on-brand and relatively affordable success for the network. The new show is sure to prompt comparisons to A&E's "Paranormal State," where Pennsylvania college students investigate supernatural claims. A&E launched "State" last year and, along with Travel Channel's U.K. import "Most Haunted," has given Sci Fi's "Hunters" brand some paranormal-investigation-genre company on basic cable.

The Haunting In Connecticut Trailer

Never one to shy away from a good scare-fest, Lionsgate has given MTV an exclusive premiere of “The Haunting in Connecticut,” the studio’s upcoming film based on the story of a family whose move to a new home kicks off a horrifying supernatural ordeal. Virginia Madsen stars as Sara Campbell alongside Kyle Gallner as Sara’s son, Matt Campbell, and Martin Donovan as Sara’s husband, Peter Campbell. Peter Cornwell directs the film.

Guillermo del Toro on Frankenstein

After he completes his work on the two "Hobbit" films in 2012, the prodigiously optimistic del Toro has a whole slew of projects to keep him occupied until 2017, including a new version of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, his long-delayed Lovecraft adaptation At the Mountains of Madness, a just-announced trilogy of vampire novels (the first of which he claims is already written), and his own version of Frankenstein.

Del Toro is an acknowledged fan of "Frankenstein." He has busts of Boris Karloff as the monster in his house. One of his biggest filmic influences, the 1973 Spanish film The Spirit of the Beehive, revolves around a showing of the classic Universal Frankenstein. He has raved about Bernie Wrightson's illustrated version and the original Frank Darabont script eventually filmed as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein by Kenneth Branagh in '94 and all-but-disowned by Darabont. Del Toro's version, however, sounds decidedly different…

"I'm not doing 'Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.' I'm doing an adventure story that involves the creature. I cannot say much, but it's not the central creation story, I'm not worried about that. The fact is I've been dreaming of doing a 'Frankenstein' movie since I was a child. The one thing I can promise is, compared to Kenneth Branagh, I will not appear shirtless in the movie!"

Romero Rises Again for Another Zombie Film

From Variety: Untitled thriller has already started shooting.

Director George A. Romero is beginning production on an untitled thriller. Once again, the antagonists are flesh-eating zombies. Romero first mined zombies with "Night of the Living Dead" and has been cannibalizing the genre since, most recently with "Diary of the Dead."

Romero wrote the new film and began shooting this week in Ontario.

Plot involves inhabitants of an isolated island off the North American coast who find their relatives rising from the dead to eat their kin. The leaders of the island feud over whether or not to kill their reanimated relatives or preserve them in hopes of finding a cure.

Cast includes Alan Van Sprang, Kenneth Welsh, Kathleen Munroe, Devon Bostick, Richard Fitzpatrick, Stefano Colacitti and Athena Karkanis.
