Storm Warning DVD News


SURVIVAL CAN BE MURDER

SANTA MONICA, CA – A “tense tale of terror down under” (All Movie Guide), Storm Warning lands with a fury in an Unrated DVD February 5, 2008 from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company’s Dimension Extreme label. From the director of Urban Legend, Storm Warning won two L.A. Screamfest awards – Best Special Effects and Best Score – when it premiered at the festival in October of 2007. Caught in a massive storm that throws them off course, a young couple is stranded on a remote island where they seek refuge in an abandoned farmhouse. Once there, they soon realize they are not alone and are being held hostage by a group of deranged killers. The film features bloodcurdling performances from Robert Taylor (Rogue, Ned Kelly), Mathew Wilkinson (Ghost Rider) and Nadia Fares (War). Directed by Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend, Valentine), Storm Warning was written by Everett De Roche and was produced by Gary Hamilton (Wolf Creek). The Storm Warning unrated DVD features an extended version of the film with feature commentary by director Jamie Blanks, writer Everett DeRoche, actor Robert Taylor, cinematographer Karl Von Moller and special FX artist Justin Dix. Storm Warning will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.95.


Synopsis:
A weekend boating excursion takes a very bad turn when a severe storm strands a married couple on a remote island. They stumble upon what appears to be a vacant house only to learn that the sadistic inhabitants are indeed home and have heinous plans for the unexpected houseguests.

Synopsis

Saw IV DVD Date

Lions Gate Home Entertainment now has a release date on the Saw IV DVD which stars Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, and Betsy Russell. The Darren Lynn Bousman directed horror will be available to in seperate rated and unrated editions from the 22nd January. Each will retail at around $29.95. A Blu-ray edition will also be available for $39.99. The full details have yet to be revealed, although extras are said to include audio commentaries, a director's diary, a Traps of Saw IV featurette, and a Props of Saw IV featurette. Stay tuned for further details as we get them.

Rob Zombies Halloween DVD News & Cover Art

Fangoria writes: The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment gave Fango the first word on the final specs for its DVD releases of Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN, coming December 18. The movie will be issued in both the R-rated theatrical version and a widescreen director’s cut running 11 minutes longer; the former will be presented in both widescreen and fullscreen, while the latter will be letterboxed only, and all will have Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. Both will be double-disc editions chock full of special features:

3-Disc The Evil Dead Ultimate Edition DVD

Anchor Bay Entertainment has officially announced a 3-Disc Ultimate Edition of The Evil Dead which stars Bruce Campbell. This classic Sam Raimi directed film will be available to own from the 18th December, and should retail at around $34.97. Both anamorphic widescreen and full screen presentations will be included on seperate discs. The widescreen edition will include a commentary by Director Sam Raimi and Producer Robert Tapert, whereas the full screen version will include a Bruce Campbell commentary.

Other features include a One by One We Will Take You: The Untold Saga of The Evil Dead documentary, some new Treasures from the Cutting Room Floor, a Life After Death: The Ladies of The Evil Dead featurette, a Ladies of The Evil Dead Meet Bruce Campbell featurette, and an Unconventional featurette with the cast and crew. Completing the package will be a Q&A with a drive-in audience of hardcore fans, a Reunion Panel, a Discovering The Evil Dead featurette that looks at the British video release of the film, makeup tests, a Poster & Memorabilia Gallery, a still gallery, and the trailer.

SYNOPSIS
On a flight from Los Angeles to Paris, a renegade scientist, on the run from the CIA, has smuggled a secret coffin containing the body of a scientist infected with a deadly genetically engineered virus.
